Sweaters, Santa and Pie

We had to walk the entire mall, but eventually shopping karma ebbed our way and both kids found sweaters they liked. They were so proud of the way they looked that they wanted to have their photo taken with Santa, or at least one of his look-a-like elves.

Back at Dave’s Home both kids helped roll out pie dough for a test apple pie. I hadn’t made a pie from scratch in more than twenty years, but I think it came out pretty good. It sure smelled good!

Tomorrow when K & H’s three sisters come over we will probably make more apple pies. The apple tree in our backyard went nuts and produced another crop, and making pies seems like a good and fun way of using them up. We also took a reader’s suggestion and had fried apples with cinnamon one morning.
